Côtes du Rhône Domaine Coudoulis red 2011 ***

steady, quite full red. Dark berry liqueur, wide air that is based on ripe crop – it wants to impress rather than play a subtle game. The palate is fat, immediate, and pretty generous. Its plum fruit is seasoned by sparky herbs, and ends with a fresh, pebbly tang. The fruit carries well, shows life at the end. Plenty of depth and drive, suited to country dishes such as shepherds pie (lamb). 14.5°. To 2016  May 2013
